Temporary Pool Closure Update
The scheduled pool closure in July will NOT take place. We will reschedule this for at a later date. We will keep everyone updated. Thank you for your consideration.
The 25-meter lap pool at Lake Forest Health & Fitness Center is available to members of all ages for aqua classes, lap workouts or a refreshing post-workout swim. A full range of classes and open swim hours mean that you can include lap swimming before or after your workout, or incorporate swimming as part of a cross-training routine. Our multi-purpose lap pool has six lanes with a temperature ranging from 80 to 84 degrees. Regardless of ability level and experience, people of all ages can swim laps. It is important to include low-impact, aerobic exercise in your fitness routine. Lap swimming provides a unique total-body cardiovascular workout.
Warm Water Therapy Pool
Unique among clubs on the North Shore, Lake Forest Health & Fitness Center is proud to offer its members a dedicated warm water therapy pool adjacent to the lap pool. With an average temperature ranging from 90 to 92 degrees, water therapy is ideal for those with arthritis, fibromyalgia or chronic pain, and those recovering from joint replacement. Our therapy pool hosts the largest arthritis class program in Illinois, with classes instructed by Arthritis Foundation-certified instructors. As part of our commitment to providing medical fitness programs to our members, we also offer a range of other warm water exercise programs and open availability.
Aquatic Classes & Programs
Group exercise in the water can be an excellent way to reach your personal fitness goals. High-, moderate- and low-intensity aquatic classes are available. Due to a large number of class participants in our Aqua Aerobics classes, the class will utilize an additional lap lane when they have 10+ class participants and the third lane for 20 or more participants. Up to two lap lanes will be available during group exercise class times for open swim.
