Lake Forest Health & Fitness Center offers a wide variety of group exercise classes designed to meet the needs of both fitness enthusiasts and those new to exercise classes. From yoga and pilates to spin, boot camp and barre classes, our diverse menu of 130+ weekly Group Exercise classes offer options for all fitness levels, ages and interests.
In addition to workouts in our Main, Mind/Body and Cycle Studios, we offer a full selection of classes designed especially for the active older adult. Aqua classes and arthritis classes in our warm water therapy pool help maintain mobility and increase strength. Each class is taught by a certified instructor, trained to provide an excellent, motivating class that is sure to make you want to come back again.
Active Older Adult Classes: Active Older Adult classes are dedicated to and appropriate for our senior members.
Aqua & Arthritis Classes: Classes are appropriate for multiple fitness levels; most are held in the warm water therapy pool unless otherwise listed. Registration is required for Arthritis classes. Classes labeled AOA are best suited for Active Older Adults.
Cycle Classes: Classes are appropriate for multiple fitness levels and held in the Cycle Studio. Sign-up is mandatory. Registration/sign-up begins one hour before class time at the front desk. You will be given a numbered tag to hang from the bike of your choice. All tagged yet unoccupied bikes at the start of class will be made available to waiting participants.
Main Studio Classes: Classes are held in the Main Studio and are appropriate for multiple fitness levels. Classes labeled AOA are best suited for Active Older Adults.
Mind / Body Studio Classes: Classes are appropriate for multiple fitness levels, unless otherwise noted, and held in the Mind/Body Studio. Classes labeled AOA are best suited for Active Older Adults.
Pilates Group Equipment Classes: The Pilates Group Equipment classes at Lake Forest Health & Fitness Center offer exercise techniques that focus on flexibility, posture and abdominal strength in a group setting. Classes are held in the Group Pilates Equipment Studio unless otherwise noted. Members new to Pilates Group Equipment Classes should attend a Beginner’s class or complete a minimum of one private session with a Pilates instructor for evaluation. You may call ahead to save your spot. At least two participants are required for the class to be held; for a single participant, a 30-minute private session will be offered at no additional cost in lieu of the 60-minute class.
Private Yoga: Private Yoga incorporates gentle stretching, mindful strengthening and breath awareness in an individualized environment. Our private sessions all begin with focused breathing and end with deep relaxation, which leaves you feeling balanced, calm and energized. Private yoga sessions are held in our Mind/Body Studio and are scheduled by appointment only. Available sessions include private, semi-private and groups of two to four people. Each instructor tailors the session to meet your needs, which is ideal for focusing on a specific area of pain or discomfort.
Wellness Classes: Wellness classes are held on the track, unless otherwise indicated. Physician approval may be required prior to starting these programs, and fees may apply.
